HUNTINGTON — Harold Davis, 78, was found dead in his apartment over the weekend. Authorities were tipped off when WMUL-FM 88.1 gave a shoutout to their monthly listener.
Interim host of The Cutting Edge, Jimmy Dodson, thanked the listener on the late show, “Hey all you groovy cats out there, just wanted to give a little shoutout to our listener out there in La La Land. Be cool and stay tuned for a mix of boundary-pushing butt-rock and a bunch of smooth jazz.”
It was only moments later, when Dodson realized that the listenership had increased 100%, and the likelihood of such a phenomenon was slim to none. “I was super excited that someone was listening to my show so consistently, but then I figured that I should probably notify the police because it’s gotta be a dead guy.”
Harold Davis was known to religiously listen to 106.3’s classic rock station, The Brew, and was making his way toward the channel when he stopped on 88.1 — instantly dying from boredom.
