Saturday night, East Carolina University pulled off an impressive upset against Marshall with 21 unanswered fourth quarter points. That's right, not North, not South, but EAST??? Carolina. Not sure about that one but we are now investigating the existence of West Carolina.
The fourth quarter happened much like the opening scene from the movie about the Herd, We Are Marshall; down one score versus ECU with quarterback Grant Wells tossing up a prayer into the corner of the end zone as time expired, only to come up short, leaving fans devastated.
Despite it being a home game, Coach Charles Huff then forced staff and players to board a plane at Tri-State Airport, telling the pilot to “circle around the block a few times” and screaming from the front of the plane while staring at everyone onboard.
Ramp reporters asked Coach Huff about his psychologically torturous and unorthodox punishment for his team. He told us, “coaching, y'know, it's a job... but acting is my passion."
Coach Huff has told assistants and staff that he really loves the movie starring Matthew McConaughey, and that maybe if something really bad happened, he could play himself in the film. He started doing a surprisingly good impression of McConaughey, “alright, alright, alright.”
We’re not convinced that Coach Huff is going to be the best choice to lead The Herd to a National Championship, or even a Beefaroni Bowl, but we do know for certain that he’s got the acting bug, and he’s gonna be a star!
