Shelem Holds #SugaWata Music Video Hostage

CHARLESTON – Local rising star and rapper, Shelem, released a disturbing hostage video on Twitter over the weekend indicating that the release of the video for his hit song, Suga Wata would be delayed until his demands were met. This upsetting video was released on the heels of the CDC’s statement citing a direct correlation between the July release of the song and a 420% increase in Type 2 Diabetes cases.

Suga Wata took the world by storm after its July release–just in time for the Summer heat. Shelem proceeded to pop the absolute fuck off at Live on the Levee, leaving residents allegedly “thirsty as hell”. Sources close to Shelem told Ramp reporters that he had planned on carrying out a “dihydrogen monoxide homicide on a juicy fruity Slip ‘N Slide.”

The hostage video was filmed in what appears to be a studio where a screenshot of the Suga Wata video can be seen looking frightened in the background. Shelem tells viewers his demands. The young rapper will only release the official Suga Wata music video if the following ransom is paid: 1000 YouTube followers. And that’s it.

Sure, #SugaWata has caused a public health crisis, and the video’s release will likely exponentially increase the devastating trend of diabetes cases across the region, but also… it’s gonna be fire. So, like, just go to his YouTube channel and subscribe because we don’t want to wait any longer. #FREESUGAWATA and let us know when you do it, okay? Uhh...Yup!
