Confused Tony Hawk Visits WV: Doesn't Find Ramps He's Looking For

WEIRTON — Professional skateboarding legend, Tony Hawk, visited West Virginia in search of ramps. What he found shocked him.

The 52 year old from Carlsbad, CA headed deep into West Virginia last week in search of what he was told was "ramps as far as the eye could see". When he arrived in Weirton, he was befuddled and disappointed – not a "ramp" in sight.

We spoke with a Hancock County resident, Carl Stevens who said “Yeah, I told ‘em he was about to walk up a big ol’ mountain or whatever, but he was just carrying his skateboard, wearing’ his helmet, and little elbow and knee pads“

Stevens, laughing, said Hawk, “just kept on a-truckin’, it was kinda funny! He thought he was about to do some tricks!” Stevens was laughing and coughing until we could no longer get additional comments.

“I was hoping for sick and gnarly drops... maybe a 40-60 foot gap jump....” Hawk said sorrowfully. “They did give me these scallions, though; which was pretty cool.”

Birdman, as Hawk is sometimes called, was drenched in sweat and breathing really hard almost as if he had just landed his first 900.

At press time, Tony Hawk announced that he had no fucking clue what was happening.
